Hadith 743
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ : ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا طَلاقَ فِيمَا لا يَمْلِكُ ، وَلا عِتْقَ فِيمَا لا يَمْلِكُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One cannot divorce whom he does not own, and one cannot set free whom he does not own.
