Hadith 733
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ أَيْمَنَ مَوْلَى عَزَّةَ ، يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، وَأَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ يَسْمَعُ ، فَقَالَ : كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا ؟ فَقَالَ : طَلَّقَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لِيُرْجِعْهَا ، فَرَدَّهَا عَلَيَّ ، وَقَالَ : إِذَا طَهُرَتْ فَلْيُطَلِّقْ أَوْ يُمْسِكْ " قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا : وَقَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ سورة الطلاق آية 1 مِنْ قَبْلِ عِدَّتِهِنَّ .
Abu Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that he heard from Abdur Rahman bin Ayman, the freed slave of Urwah, while he was asking Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Abu Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) was listening. He asked: What is your opinion about a man who divorces his wife while she is menstruating? He (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Abdullah bin Umar divorced his wife during her menstruation in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Abdullah bin Umar has divorced his wife while she is menstruating. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He should take her back. You returned the wife to me and said: When she becomes pure, then either divorce her or keep her. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ﴾ (O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them at the beginning of their prescribed period [purity]).
