Hadith 725
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ : أَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ سَفَرًا أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَ نِسَائِهِ ، فَأَيَّتُهُنَّ خَرَجَ سَهْمُهَا خَرَجَ بِهَا مَعَهُ " . " وَكَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِكُلِّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَتَهَا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ وَهَبَتْ يَوْمَهَا وَلَيْلَتَهَا لِعَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا تَبْتَغِي بِذَلِكَ رِضَا رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
The noble wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) intended to go on a journey, he would draw lots among his wives, and the one whose name was drawn, he would take her along. The Prophet (peace be upon him) had allocated one day and one night for each wife. However, Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave her turn to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) in order to please the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
