Hadith 724
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأَحْمَسِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " السُّنَّةُ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْبِكْرَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا سَبْعًا ، وَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الثَّيِّبَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلاثًا " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Sunnah is that when a person marries a virgin girl, he should stay with her for seven nights, and when he marries a previously married woman (thayyibah), he should stay with her for three nights.
