Hadith 709
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الأَحْمَسِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الأَيِّمُ أَوْلَى بِنَفْسِهَا مِنْ وَلِيِّهَا ، وَالْبِكْرُ تُسْتَأْمَرُ فِي نَفْسِهَا وَصُمَاتُهَا إِقْرَارُهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A widow has more right over herself than her guardian, and a virgin should be consulted regarding her desire, and her silence will be considered as her consent.
