Hadith 675
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا ؟ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لا ، قَالَ : " فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا " .
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I sent a marriage proposal to a woman, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: Have you seen her? I replied: No! He said: Look at her, for it is more likely that affection will develop between you.
