Hadith 662
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، قَالَ : ثني عُقْبَةُ ، قَالَ : ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : ثني نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " عَامَلَ أَهْلَ خَيْبَرَ بِشَطْرِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنْهَا مِنْ زَرْعٍ أَوْ تَمْرٍ ، فَكَانَ يُعْطِي أَزْوَاجَهُ كُلَّ عَامٍ مِائَةَ وَسْقٍ ، ثَمَانُونَ وَسْقًا تَمْرًا ، وَعِشْرُونَ وَسْقًا شَعِيرًا " ، فَلَمَّا قَامَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَسَّمَ خَيْبَرَ فَخَيَّرَ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْطَعَ لَهُنَّ الأَرْضَ ، أَوْ يَضْمَنَ لَهُنَّ الْوُسُوقَ ، فَمِنْهُنَّ مَنِ اخْتَارَ أَنْ يَقْطَعَ لَهَا الأَرْضَ ، وَمِنْهُنَّ مَنِ اخْتَارَ الْوُسُوقَ ، وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَحَفْصَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا مِمَّنِ اخْتَارَ الْوُسُوقَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made an agreement with the people of Khaybar (the Jews) for half of the produce of dates and grain. Every year, he used to give his noble wives eighty (80) wasq of dates and twenty (20) wasq of barley (a total of one hundred (100) wasq) from this. When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became the caliph and he distributed the land of Khaybar, he gave the noble wives the choice: if they wished, a piece of land would be given to them, and if they wished, they could continue to receive the wasq. So, some of them preferred to take the land, and some preferred to continue receiving the wasq. Sayyidah Aisha and Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with them both) were among those who preferred to receive the wasq.
