Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that at Khaybar, a necklace was presented to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which had gold and gems set in it. That necklace had come as war booty and was being sold. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the gold set in the necklace be separated, so it was separated. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Gold can be sold for gold in equal weight."
