Hadith 639
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، قَالَ : أنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيَّ ، أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنْ بِعْتَ مِنْ أَخِيكَ تَمْرًا فَأَصَابَتْهُ جَائِحَةٌ فَلا يَحِلُّ لَكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا ، بِمَ تَأْخُذُ مَالَ أَخِيكَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ؟ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you sell a date-palm (fruit-bearing tree) to your brother and some calamity befalls it, then it is not permissible for you to take anything from him. Why would you wrongfully take your brother's wealth?"
