Hadith 615
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي الثِّمَارِ فِي سَنَتَيْنِ وَثَلاثٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَسَلِّفُوا فِي الثِّمَارِ فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, the people there used to conduct Salam (forward sale) transactions in fruits for two or three years. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In Salam transactions of fruits, specify the measure and the weight."
