Hadith 576
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " لَمَّا أنزل آخِرُ الآيَاتِ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ الَّتِي يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا الرِّبَا ، خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، ثُمَّ حَرَّمَ التِّجَارَةَ فِي الْخَمْرِ " .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, in which usury is mentioned, were revealed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and recited these verses before the people, then he declared the buying and selling of alcohol to be forbidden.
