Hadith 559
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ آدَمَ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَمَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَزًّا مِنْ هَجَرَ ، فَجَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَاوَمَنَا بِسَرَاوِيلَ ، وَعِنْدَنَا وَزَّانٌ يَزِنُ بِالأَجْرِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْوَزَّانِ : زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ " .
Sayyiduna Suwaid bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I and Makhramah ‘Abdi brought cloth from Hajar. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and bargained with us for (some cloth for trousers). We had a man with us who used to weigh (goods) for wages. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: “Weigh a little more (i.e., give extra).”
