Hadith 510
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " لَوْ رَأَيْتُ الظِّبَاءَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مَا ذَعَرْتُهَا ، إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : مَا بَيْنَ لابَتَيْهَا حَرَامٌ " ، قَالَ مَالِكٌ : حَرَمُ الْمَدِينَةِ بَرِيدٌ فِي بَرِيدٍ ، وَاللابَتَانِ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَهُمَا الْحَرَّتَانِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that if I see deer in Madinah, I would not disturb them, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: «مدینہ کے دونوں پتھریلے میدانوں کے درمیان کا علاقہ حرم ہے۔» Imam Malik says: The sanctuary (Haram) of Madinah extends one "barid" (twelve miles) in every direction. "Labatan" refers to the two stony fields (the two Harrahs).
