Hadith 498
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ فُلانًا الْجُهَنِيَّ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ أَوْ قَالَ لا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْحَجَّ ؟ قَالَ : " فَحُجَّ عَنْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man from the Juhaina tribe asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): My elderly father passed away without performing Hajj, or he said that he did not have the ability to perform Hajj, (can Hajj be performed on his behalf?) The Prophet replied: «اس کی طرف سے حج کر لو۔»
