Hadith 490
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْوَرَّاقُ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الأَشَجُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عُقْبَةُ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : ثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِيَ مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ " ، الْحَدِيثُ لِلأَشَجِّ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to spend the nights of Mina in Makkah for the purpose of providing water, so he granted him permission. These are the words of Al-Ashajj’s narration.
