حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : أَنَا عِيسَى ، عَنْ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَدَاةَ الْعَقَبَةِ وَهُوَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ : " هَاتِ الْقُطْ " ، فَلَقَطْتُ لَهُ حَصَيَاتٍ نَحْوًا مِنْ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ ، فَلَمَّا وَضَعْتُهُنَّ فِي يَدِهِ ، قَالَ : " مثل هَؤُلاءِ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُوَّ فِي الدِّينِ ، فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِالْغُلُوِّ فِي الدِّينِ " .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that on the morning of Aqabah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me, while he was mounted on his camel, to bring him pebbles. So I gathered for him small pebbles, about the size that could be thrown with a finger. When I placed them in his hand, he said three times: «ایسی ہی کنکریاں مارو» and said: «دین میں غلو سے بچو، کیونکہ تم سے پہلے لوگ دین میں غلو کی وجہ سے تباہ ہوئے۔»
