Hadith 443
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، عَنْ نَبِيهٍ ، قَالَ : " اشْتَكَى عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ عَيْنَيْهِ ، فَلَمَّا أَتَى الرَّوْحَاءَ اشْتَدَّ بِهِ ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ فَأَرْسَلَ أَبَانُ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، حَدَّثَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يُضَمِّدَهُمَا بِالصَّبِرِ " .
Nabiyah says that Umar bin Ubaidullah bin Ma'mar had pain in his eyes. When he reached the place of Rauha, the pain increased. He sent a message to Aban bin Uthman, so Aban replied that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tie a bandage of aloe vera (sabr) on both eyes.
