Hadith 435
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، " أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أُنَاسٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ مُحْرِمُونَ وَأَبُو قَتَادَةَ لَيْسَ بِمُحْرِمٍ ، فَرَكِبَ فَرَسًا فَصَرَعَ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْ لَحْمِهِ ، وَأَبَى أَصْحَابُهُ أَنْ يَأْكُلُوا وَإِنَّهُمْ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَشَرْتُمْ ، أَوْ قَتَلْتُمْ ، أَوْ أَصَدْتُمْ " قَالُوا : لا ، قَالَ : " لا بَأْسَ بِهِ كُلُوهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he was with some of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) companions who were in the state of ihram, while he himself was not in ihram. He rode a horse and hunted a wild donkey and ate its meat, but his companions refused to eat. They asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Did you signal, kill, or hunt it? They replied: No. He said: There is no harm in it, eat it.
