Hadith 417
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " السَّرَاوِيلُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الإِزَارَ ، وَالْخُفَّانِ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ النَّعْلَيْنِ " ، فَلا أَدْرِي أَيَّ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ نَسَخَ الآخَرَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, and he was saying: "Trousers are for the one who does not have an izar (waist-wrapper), and socks are for the one who does not have shoes." The narrator says: I do not know which of these two narrations is abrogating the other.
