Hadith 395
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلالَ فَصُومُوا ، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا ، فَإِنَّ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَصُومُوا ثَلاثِينَ يَوْمًا " .
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see the moon, then fast, and when you see the moon, then break the fast. If the sky is cloudy, then complete thirty days of fasting.
