Hadith 375
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالا : ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ حُنَيْنٍ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يُنْكِرُ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ فِي صِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ إِذَا لَمْ يُرَ هِلالُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا لَمْ تَرَوُوا الْهِلالَ فَاسْتَكْمِلُوا ثَلاثِينَ لَيْلَةً " .
Muhammad bin Haneen says that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) disliked that anyone should fast before the new moon of Ramadan was sighted. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the moon is not sighted, then complete thirty nights.
