Hadith 350
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، قَالَ : أَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، " أَنَّ بَنِي شَبَابَةَ بَطْنٌ مِنْ فَهْمٍ كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ نَحْلٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُشْرَ مِنْ كُلِّ عَشْرِ قِرَبٍ قِرْبَةً ، وَكَانَ يَحْمِي لَهُمْ وَادِيَيْنِ لَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ أَدُّوا إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا يُؤَدُّونَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَمَى لَهُمْ وَادِيَيْهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that Banu Sababah, who were a part of the Fahm tribe, used to pay the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a tenth (one out of ten water skins) of honey, which was obligatory upon them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) provided them protection over two valleys. Then, they paid the same tenth that they used to pay to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also continued to provide them protection over those two valleys.
