Hadith 34
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ: ثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ح وَثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، قَالَ: ثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْجُحْرِ» هَذَا حَدِيثُ إِسْحَاقَ وَزَادَ: قَالُوا لِقَتَادَةَ مَا تَكْرَهُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ فِي الْجُحْرِ؟ قَالَ: يُقَالُ إِنَّهَا مَسَاكِنُ الْجِنِّ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not urinate in a hole (burrow)."
These are the words of Ishaq's narration. He further stated that people asked Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him): "What is wrong with urinating in a hole?" He replied: "It is said that jinn dwell in them."
