Hadith 324

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا تُبَادِرُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ وَلا بِالسُّجُودِ ، فَإِنَّهُ مَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا رَكَعْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي بِهِ إِذَا رَفَعْتُ ، وَمَهْمَا أَسْبِقْكُمْ بِهِ إِذَا سَجَدْتُ تُدْرِكُونِي بِهِ إِذَا رَفَعْتُ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ " .
Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not precede me in bowing (ruku) and prostration (sujud), because as much as I bow before you, that much time you will get when I rise from bowing, and as much as I prostrate before you, that much time you will get when I rise from prostration, because my body has become heavy.
