Hadith 292
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " أَقْبَلَتْ عِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْجُمُعَةَ ، فَانْفَضَّ النَّاسُ مَا بَقِيَ غَيْرُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ رَجُلا ، فنزلت : وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا سورة الجمعة آية 11 " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that we were performing Jumu'ah with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a (trading) caravan arrived. All the people except twelve ran towards it, so this verse was revealed: «وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا» [الجمعة: 11] (When they see a trade or amusement, they rush towards it.)
