باب في ركعات السنةNumber of sunnah rak‘ahs
Hadith 276
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ " . قَالَ : قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ، وَكَانَتْ سَاعَةٌ لا يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهِ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ ، " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ ، وَيُنَادِي الْمُنَادِي بِالصَّلاةِ ، قَالَ أَيُّوبُ : أَرَاهُ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي بَيْتِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I performed two rak‘ahs with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before and after Zuhr, two rak‘ahs at home after Maghrib, and two rak‘ahs at home after ‘Isha. He says: Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with them both) informed me: When Fajr would dawn and the muezzin would call the adhan for the Fajr prayer, at that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform two rak‘ahs, and this was the time when no one would come to him. Ayyub says: I think he used to perform these two rak‘ahs lightly. In the same way, he used to perform two rak‘ahs at home after Jumu‘ah.
