باب الصلاة على الراحلةPrayer on a riding animal
Hadith 270
حَدَّثَنَا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَبِّحُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ قِبَلَ أَيِّ وَجْهٍ تَوَجَّهَ وَيُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform all voluntary prayers, including Witr, on his mount, facing whichever direction it was headed; however, he did not perform obligatory prayers on his mount.
