ما جاء في العيدينPrayer of the two Eids
Hadith 264
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ آدَمَ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا الْفَضْلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " حَضَرْتُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ ، فَقَالَ : " قَدْ قَضَيْتُمُ الصَّلاةَ ، فَمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَجْلِسْ لِلْخُطْبَةِ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ فَلْيَذْهَبْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I attended the Eid prayer with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: The prayer has been completed; whoever wishes to sit for the sermon may sit, and whoever wishes to leave may leave.
