Hadith 207
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا تَشَهَّدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ ثُمَّ لَيَدَعُ لِنَفْسِهِ بِمَا بَدَا لَهُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When anyone sits for Tashahhud, he should seek refuge from four things: the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death, and the evil of the False Messiah (Dajjal), then he may supplicate for whatever he wishes for himself.
