Hadith 186
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي الْقَطَّانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ قَالَ: اخْرُجْ فَنَادِ فِي أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فَمَا زَادَ» ، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: جَعْفَرٌ هَذَا رَوَى عَنْهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَعِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him: Announce among the people of Madinah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has said: There is no prayer without reciting Surah Al-Fatihah and something additional. Abu Muhammad says that he is a student of Ja’far Thawri and Isa bin Yunus.
