Hadith 175
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَخْبَرَاهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيْثُ نُزِلَ بِهِ جَعَلَ يُلْقِي عَلَى وَجْهِهِ خَمِيصَةً فَإِذَا اغْتَمَّ كَشَفَهَا مِنْ وَجْهِهِ وَيَقُولُ: «لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ» ، تَقُولُ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: يُحَذِّرُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي فَعَلُوا
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas and Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them) narrate that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was afflicted with his final illness, he would repeatedly place his cloak over his face. When he felt some relief, he would remove the cloak from his face and say: "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of prostration." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was warning the Ummah against such actions.
