ما جاء في الأذانWhat is reported about the call to prayer
Hadith 164
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: أَنَا عِيسَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ: " كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى، وَالْإِقَامَةُ وَاحِدَةً غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ إِذَا قَالَ: قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ثَنَّى بِهَا فَإِذَا سَمِعْنَاهَا تَوَضَّأَنَا وَخَرَجْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ "، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: أَبُو الْمُثَنَّى اسْمُهُ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ مُؤَذِّنُ مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that in the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the words of the adhan were said twice each, and the words of the iqamah were said once each, except for «قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ», which was said twice. We would perform ablution upon hearing the iqamah and come for prayer. Abu Muhammad says: Abu Mathna's name is Muslim bin Mehran; he was the muezzin of the mosque of Kufa.
