Hadith 161
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَيُّوبَ: ثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: أُمِرَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ الْأَذَانَ وَيُوتِرَ الْإِقَامَةَ فَقَالَ أَيُّوبُ: إِلَّا الْإِقَامَةَ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was commanded to say the words of the adhan twice each and the words of the iqamah once each. Ayyub said: Except for “«قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلوةُ»” (i.e., it should be said twice).
