Hadith 1079
حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ ، سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ : ثنا مَكْحُولٌ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ نَفَلَ الرُّبُعَ فِي الْبَدَأَةِ ، وَالثُّلُثَ فِي الرَّجْعَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), at the beginning of jihad, after taking out the khums, used to give one-fourth as a gift, and after returning from jihad, one-third.
