Hadith 1075
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : ثني إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ ، قَالَ : ثني أَبِي رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ فِرْسَانِهَا الْيَوْمَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ ، وَخَيْرُ رَجَّالَتِنَا سَلَمَةُ " ثُمَّ أَعْطَانِي سَهْمَيْنِ : سَهْمُ الْفَارِسِ وَالرَّاجِلِ جَمِيعًا .
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Abu Qatadah is the best horseman today, and Salamah is our best foot soldier today.” Then he (the Prophet) gave me the shares of both a horseman and a foot soldier.
