باب ما جاء في التغليظ على تارك الغزوSeverity against abandoning battle
Hadith 1036
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : ثنا أَسَدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَغْزُ وَلَيْسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ ، مَاتَ عَلَى شُعْبَةٍ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever dies without ever having (practically) participated in jihad, nor ever having the intention in his heart, then he dies upon a branch of hypocrisy.
