Hadith 1027
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ : أَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أُصِيبُ رَجُلٌ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ثِمَارٍ ابْتَاعَهَا فَكَثُرَ دَيْنُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَصَدَّقُوا عَلَيْهِ ، فَتُصُدِّقَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ ذَلِكَ وَفَاءَ دَيْنِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : خُذُوا مَا وَجَدْتُمْ وَلَيْسَ لَكُمْ إِلا ذَلِكَ " .
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man suffered a loss in the purchase of fruits, which caused him to incur a large debt. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give charity to him." The people gave charity, but the debt was not fully paid off. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take whatever is given to you; beyond that, you have nothing."
