Hadith 1023
أَخْبَرَنَا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، أَنْ يَحْيَى بْنَ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ : ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ : " الْعَارِيَةُ مُؤَدَّاةٌ ، وَالْمِنْحَةُ مَرْدُودَةٌ ، وَالدِّينُ مَقْضِيُّ ، وَالزَّعِيمُ غَارِمٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying during the Farewell Pilgrimage: The borrowed item must be returned, the animal given for milk must be returned, the debt must be repaid, and the guarantor must pay the compensation.
