Hadith 1022
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْقَزَّازُ الدَّارِيُّ ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : أَهْدَى بَعْضُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا فِي قَصْعَةٍ ، فَضَرَبَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا الْقَصْعَةَ بِيَدِهَا ، فَأَلْقَتْهَا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " طَعَامٌ كَطَعَامٍ وَإِنَاءٌ كَإِنَاءٍ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent food for him in a bowl as a gift. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) struck the bowl with her hand, causing it to fall and break. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Provide food like the food and a bowl like the bowl."
