Hadith 1014
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : ثني اللَّيْثُ ، قَالَ : ثني عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أُعْمِرَ أَرْضًا لَيْسَتْ لأَحَدٍ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا " ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ : وَقَضَى بِذَلِكَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي خِلافَتِهِ .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever revives barren land that does not belong to anyone, then he is entitled to it. Urwah says: During his caliphate, Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) made the same decision.
