Hadith 1792
1792 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً لاَ يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا وَإِنَّهَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِ فَحَدِّثُونِي، مَا هِيَ فَوَقَعَ النَّاسُ فِي شَجَرِ الْبَوَادِي (قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ) : وَوَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ فَاسْتَحْييْتُ ثُمَّ قَالُوا: حَدِّثْنَا، مَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ: هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the trees, there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and the example of a Muslim is like that tree. Tell me, which tree is that? Upon hearing this, people’s thoughts turned towards the trees of the jungle. Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It came to my heart that it is the date-palm tree, but due to my (youthful) shyness, I did not speak. Finally, the companions asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) themselves: Which tree is that? He said: It is the date-palm tree.
