Hadith 1790
1790 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ، مِنْ حَيْثُ أَتَتْهَا الرِّيحُ كَفَأَتْهَا فَإِذَا اعْتَدَلَتْ تَكَفَّأُ بِالْبَلاَءِ وَالْفَاجِرُ كَالأَرْزَةِ، صَمَّاءَ، مُعْتَدِلَةً حَتَّى يَقْصِمَهَا اللهُ، إِذَا شَاءَ
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a believer is like a tender plant; whenever the wind blows, it bends it, but when the wind stops, it becomes straight again. In this way, a believer remains patient in the face of trials and succeeds. And the example of a wicked person is like a pine tree, which is hard and stands straight until Allah wills, and then He uproots and throws it away.
Hadith 1791
1791 صحيح حديث كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَالْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ، تُفَيِّئُهَا الرِّيحُ مَرَّةً، وَتَعْدِلُهَا مَرَّةً وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَالأَرْزَةِ، لاَ تَزَالُ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً
Hazrat Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a believer is like the first green shoot of a plant, which the wind sometimes bends and sometimes straightens. And the example of a hypocrite is like a pine tree, which always stands straight, but in the end, is uprooted by a single gust of wind.
