Hadith 1715
1715 صحيح حديث أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا دَعَا أَحَدُكُمْ، فَلْيَعْزِمِ الْمَسْئَلَةَ وَلاَ يَقُولَنَّ: اللهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَعْطِنِي فَإِنَّهُ لاَ مُسْتَكْرِهَ لَهُ
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you supplicates, he should ask Allah with certainty, and he should not say: O Allah, if You will, grant me. For there is no one who can compel Allah.
Hadith 1716
1716 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي اللهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي، إِنْ شِئْتَ لِيَعْزِمَ الْمَسْئَلَةَ، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ مُكْرِهَ لَهُ
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should say, "O Allah, if You wish, forgive me. Grant me forgiveness," but rather he should supplicate with certainty. For there is no one who can compel Allah.
