Hadith 1683
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman from the Children of Israel was punished because of a cat which she had confined until it died. Because of this, she entered Hell. While she kept the cat tied up, she neither gave it anything to eat nor to drink, nor did she let it go so that it could eat the insects of the earth.
