Hadith 1676
1676 صحيح حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، أَنَّ رَسُولُ الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الغَضَبِ»
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The strong man is not the one who overcomes others in wrestling, but the true strong man is the one who controls himself when he is angry.
Hadith 1677
1677 صحيح حَدِيثُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدٍ. قَالَ: اسْتَبَّ رَجُلاَنِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَد، وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَهُ جُلُوسٌ. وَأَحَدَهُمَا يَسُبُّ صَاحِبَهُ، مُغْضَبًا، قَدِ احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً، لَوْ قَالَهَا، لَذَهَبَ عَنْهُ مَا يَجِدُ. لَوْ قَالَ: أَعُوذ بِالله مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيم» . فَقَالُوا لِلرَّجُلِ: أَلاَ تَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: إنِّي لَسْتُ بِمَجْنُونٍ
Hazrat Sulaiman bin Surad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that two men quarreled in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and we were also sitting with the Prophet (peace be upon him). One person was abusing the other in a state of anger, and his face had turned red. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "I know a word, if this person says it, his anger will go away. If he says: 'A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim' (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil)." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said to him, "Do you not hear what the Prophet (peace be upon him) is saying?" He replied, "I am not mad, am I?"
