Hadith 1659
1659 صحيح حَدِيثُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لاَ يَحِل لِرَجُلٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلاَثِ لَيَالٍ. يَلْتَقِيَانِ، فَيُعْرِضُ هاذَا، وَيُعْرِضُ هاذَا. وَخَيْرُهُمَا الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ بِالسَّلاَمِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is not permissible for a person to abandon meeting his brother for more than three days, such that when the two meet, this one turns his face away and that one turns his face away, and the better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting of peace (salam).
