Hadith 1650
1650 صحيح حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضي الله عنه، قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوساً عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الجُمُعَةِ {وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ} قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَنْ هُمْ يَا رَسُولَ الله؟ فَلَمْ يُرَاجِعْهُ، حَتَّى سَأَل ثَلاَثًا. وَفِينَا سَلْمَانُ الفَارِسِيُّ. وَضَعَ رَسُولُ الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَدَهُ عَلَى سَلْمَانَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «لَوْ كَانَ الإِيمَانُ عِنْدَ الثُّريَّا، لَنَالَهُ رِجَال (أَوْ) رَجلٌ مِنْ هؤلاء»
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when these verses of Surah Al-Jumu'ah were revealed: "And (He has sent him) to others among them who have not yet joined them" . Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says, I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are these others?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not reply. I repeated the same question three times. Salman Al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) was also present in the gathering. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his hand on him and said, "If faith were at the Pleiades, even then some men from these people (i.e., the people of Persia) would attain it," or he said, "A man from these people would attain it."
