Hadith 1621
1621 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُكْثِرُ الْحَدِيثَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللهُ الْمَوْعِدُ إِنِّي كُنْتُ امْرَءًا مِسْكِينًا، أَلْزَمُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مِلْءِ بَطْنِي وَكَانَ الْمُهَاجِرونَ يَشْغَلُهُمُ الصَّفْقُ بِالأَسْوَاقِ وَكَانَتِ الأَنْصَارُ يَشْغَلُهُمُ الْقِيَامُ عَلَى أَمْوَالِهِمْ فَشَهِدْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَقَالَ: مَنْ يَبْسُطْ رِدَاءَهُ حَتَّى أَقْضِيَ مَقَالَتِي، ثُمَّ يَقْبِضْهُ فَلَنْ يَنْسى شَيْئًا سَمِعَهُ مِنِّي فَبَسَطْتُ بُرْدَةً كَانَتْ عَلَيَّ فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَهُ بِالْحَقِّ مَا نَسِيتُ شَيْئًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You think that Abu Hurairah narrates many ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), to Allah we all have to return. The matter was that I was a poor man and after filling my stomach, I would always stay with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Muhajirun were kept busy by business in the market and the Ansar were occupied with looking after their wealth. One day I was present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he said: Who will spread his sheet until I finish my words, and then gather it up, and after that never forget any word he has heard from me? So I spread the sheet that was on my body, and by Him who sent the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth, after that I never forgot any hadith that I heard from him.
