Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that an Ansari man presented his dispute with Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the stream of Harrah, whose water the people of Madinah used to give to their date-palm trees, before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Ansari said to Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), "Let the water flow ahead," but Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) refused, and this dispute was presented before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), "(First) irrigate your garden, then let it flow quickly for your neighbor brother." At this, the Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry and said, "Yes, Zubair is your aunt's son, isn't he?" At this, the color of the blessed face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) changed. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Zubair! Irrigate (your land), then hold the water until it reaches the embankments."

Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: By Allah! I think that this verse was revealed regarding this matter: "Never! By your Lord, they will not (truly) believe until they make you judge in all disputes between them. Then they do not find any discomfort or displeasure in their hearts regarding what you have decided, and they accept it with full submission." (An-Nisa: 65)
