Hadith 1473
1473 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِنَّ مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ مِنْ قَبْلِي كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ بَنى بَيْتًا فَأَحْسَنَهُ وَأَجْمَلَهُ إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ لَبِنَةٍ مِنْ زَاوِيَةٍ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَطُوفُونَ بِهِ، وَيَعْجَبُونَ لَهُ، وَيَقُولُونَ: هَلاَّ وُضِعَتْ هذِهِ اللَّبِنَةُ فَأَنَا اللَّبِنَةُ، وَأَنَا خَاتَمُ النَّبِيِّينَ
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of me and the prophets before me is like that of a person who built a house and adorned it beautifully, but left a space for one brick in a corner. Now people come and walk around the house, admiring it and expressing wonder, but they also say, "Why was this brick not placed here?" So I am that brick, and I am the Seal of the Prophets.
Hadith 1474
1474 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ كَرَجُلٍ بَنى دَارًا فَأَكْمَلَهَا وَأَحْسَنَهَا إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ لَبِنَةٍ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَيَتَعَجَّبُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ: لَوْلاَ مَوُضِعُ اللَّبِنَةِ
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of me and the other prophets is like that of a person who built a house, beautified and completed it, except for the place of one brick which was left empty. People would enter that house and be amazed, and would say, "If only this one brick had not been left empty, how perfect and complete this house would be!" (My prophethood has filled that gap and completed the palace of prophethood. Now, no prophet will come after me.)
